What is the largest water treatment works in the world and how much water can it output?
1. Potable Water
There seem to be several candidates and categories here and I have chosen 3 to illustrate the possibilities:
- 1) Coagulation/Filtration - Robert B Diemer Works, Yorba Linda A California rated at 520 Million gallons (US)/day.
I make this some 1650Ml/day from a 210 acre site.
- 2) Microfiltration - Sandhurst, Australia rated at 126Ml/day
- 3) Ultrafiltration - Clay Lane , Three Valleys rated at 160 Ml/day
To put these figures, especially the US works into context, Northumbrian Water's Broken Scar WTW is given in some press
releases as having a capacity of 150Ml/day.
